Palestinian jubilation at today’s murder suggests there is no civilized solution to the Palestinian problem. So it’ll be solved in an uncivilized manner.
A woman was murdered Monday morning and about 10 people were injured in a terror attack carried out by a suicide bomber at a commercial center in the southern Israeli city of Dimona.
Palestinians responded as they did to 9/11:
As word of the suicide bombing in Dimona spread Monday, Gaza residents were treated to celebratory wreaths of flowers as well as sweets that were handed to drivers and passers-by.
Gaza motorists receiving the treats and sweets also honked their horns in triumph and celebration.
Still (my ellipsis):
The (Palestinian) “party” was somewhat marred when word spread that Abu Sa’ad, a senior member and spokesman for the Salah al-Din Brigades, the Popular Resistance Committees’ military wing, was killed in an IDF attack in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya.
The Palestinians present a problem for the post WW2 international consensus against genocide.
But, historically, that’s how nations have been pacified – the Romans killed all the men and enslaved surviving women and kids.
A modern example is the Russian pacification of the Chechens:
On October 21, 1999, a Russian short-range ballistic missile strike on the central Grozny killed more than 140 people, including many women and children, and left hundreds more wounded.
Eight days later Russian aircraft carried out a rocket attack on a large convoy of refugees heading into Ingushetia, killing at least 25 civilians including Red Cross workers and journalists.
Two days later the Russian forces conducted a heavy artillery and rocket attack on Samashki. Some claimed that civilians were killed in Samashki in revenge for the heavy casualties suffered there by Russian forces during the first war.
Since December 2005, Ramzan Kadyrov, leader of the pro-Moscow militia leader known as kadyrovites, had been functioning as the Chechnya’s de-facto ruler. Kadyrov, whose irregular forces are accused of carrying out many….abductions and atrocities, has become Chechnya’s most powerful leader and on February 2007, with support from Putin, (he became) president.
The Palestinians are protected from the fate of Chechnya by Israeli decency.
But decency evaporates at a certain level of pain – In WW2 the Brits set theirs aside after the Blitz, then slaughtered 600,000 German civilians. Since when Germany has not been a problem.
